About The Position
Wilson Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 19-bed Adult Behavioral Health Unit. The unit is staffed by Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Mental Health Technicians, Social Work Therapists, Recreational Therapists, and Psychiatric Providers. It treats patients with diagnoses including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Substance Use Disorder. Patients may experience psychosis, suicidal or homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness. The role involves collaborative care in a supportive environment focused on individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The position is scheduled for three 12-hour overnight shifts, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. It is in-person and offers a $20,000 commitment bonus. The employer describes the desired nurse as compassionate and knowledgeable about critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.
Requirements
- Current state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities
- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Use crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Complete timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
- Complete timely and accurate quality improvement (QI) assessments.
