About The Position
Wilson Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 19-bed Adult Behavioral Health Unit. The unit is staffed by Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Mental Health Technicians, Social Work Therapists, Recreational Therapists, and Psychiatric Providers. It treats diagnoses including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Substance Use Disorder. Patients may experience psychosis, suicidal or homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness. The role provides an opportunity to collaborate in a supportive environment focused on quality care for people experiencing behavioral health crises. The position is in person and scheduled for three 12-hour shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. A $20,000 commitment bonus is offered. Requirements
- Current state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.

- One year of experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Use crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Complete timely and appropriate medical-necessity documentation in the medical record.
- Complete timely and accurate quality improvement (QI) assessments.
