About The Position

St. Francis Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its behavioral health services. The role provides nursing care to patients, including treatment, education about mental and medical conditions, advice and emotional support for patients and their families, therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and seclusion and restraint when needed. The nurse also records medical histories and symptoms, assists with diagnostic testing and interpretation of results, operates medical machinery, administers treatments and medications, and supports follow-up and rehabilitation. Nurses educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, diet and exercise, medication self-administration, and physical therapy. The role includes other related duties.

Requirements

Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Working knowledge of mental health laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team processes, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Responsibilities
