About The Position
CoreCivic is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in an institutional setting. The role involves providing nursing care to inmates or residents and performing duties at a pace and level consistent with the job’s performance requirements. The position pays $41.42–$52.89 per hour and offers a $10,000 bonus.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited college, university, or nursing program with a degree or diploma in nursing.
- Possess current nursing licensure in the state of employment.
- Have at least one year of psychiatric nursing experience as a licensed registered nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential setting.
- Obtain Board Certification in Psychiatric Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) within two years of hire.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Apply appropriate nursing skills in the treatment of inmates or residents.
- Attend sick call with the physician; prepare a list of inmates or residents to be examined and prepare the examining room and equipment.
- Examine and assess new inmates or residents with illnesses or injuries, as well as those who become ill or injured; refer them to an emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facility as required by their condition.
- Perform emergency procedures as needed and notify a Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders.
- Provide guidance, supervise, and monitor nursing care provided by licensed vocational or practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
