About The Position

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Behavioral Health - Adult Males unit at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time night position, working 3 12-hour shifts from 7p-7:30a, including rotating holidays and weekends. The hospital offers a fast, streamlined interview process with flexible scheduling and quick decision-making. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for qualified candidates, with details discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care

Responsibilities

Treating patients
Educating patients about mental and medical conditions
Providing advice and emotional support to patients’ and/or family members
Running therapeutic groups
Psychiatric crisis intervention
Seclusion and restraint of patients
Recording patients’ medical histories and symptoms
Helping to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results
Operating medical machinery
Administering treatment and medications
Assisting with patient follow-up and rehabilitation
Teaching patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy
