About The Position
Prime Healthcare St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Child & Adolescent Psych Unit. This part-time position involves 2x 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, requiring at least 4 shifts every 4 weeks. The role offers a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and a fast, streamlined interview process with flexible scheduling. The hospital is located at 2233 W Division St, Chicago, Illinois 60622, with free parking available.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
- Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
Responsibilities
- Treating patients
- Educating patients about mental and medical conditions
- Providing advice and emotional support to patients’ and/or family members
- Running therapeutic groups
- Psychiatric crisis intervention
- Seclusion and restraint of patients
- Recording patients’ medical histories and symptoms
- Helping to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results
- Operating medical machinery
- Administering treatment and medications
- Assisting with patient follow-up and rehabilitation
- Teaching patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy
