About The Position

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Behavioral Health - Adult Intensive Unit (Males) at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time night position, working three 12-hour shifts from 7p-7:30a, including rotating holidays and weekends. The role involves treating patients, educating them on mental and medical conditions, providing emotional support, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and managing seclusion and restraint. RNs are responsible for recording patient histories, operating medical machinery, administering treatments and medications, and assisting with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families about illness management, diet, exercise, medication self-administration, and physical therapy.

Requirements

Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
