Requirements

  • One (1) year experience in an operating room setting in an acute care facility required
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Current California Registered Nursing license
  • BLS, ACLS (AHA) required

Responsibilities

  • Displays the ability to document pertinent patient data, nursing interventions and patient responses.
  • Documentation is accurate, timely, concise and legible.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform rapid assessments differentiating between short and long term needs.
  • Protects the rights of the patient, the perianesthesia nurse and the facility by providing legal and ethical healthcare by ethical conduct and a clear understanding of legal guidelines.
  • Is competent to monitor the patient's hemodynamic state and interpret the results.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide appropriate patient/family teaching pre and post procedure.
  • Accurately completes and utilizes consents and other forms.
