About The Position
VON Canada is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary, part-time position (0.6 FTE) focused on pediatric school care. This role involves providing holistic, person-centered care to children and youth within the school calendar year (September to June), with potential for renewal. The ideal candidate is empathetic, adaptable, and possesses excellent judgment, enjoying working with children and driving to various locations. VON Canada is a not-for-profit organization with over 125 years of experience in home and community care, dedicated to helping individuals live healthier, happier lives.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
- Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities
- Client assessments to develop individual care plans
- Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
- Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds
- Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
- IV therapy and CVAD management
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Dialysis Management
- Rehabilitative programs
- Palliative and End of Life Care
- Medication management
- Other critical nursing skills
