About The Position
VON Canada is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary, part-time (0.2 FTE) position focused on Pediatric School Care. This role operates during the school calendar year (September to June) with an option to renew, excluding school holidays and PD days. The ideal candidate is empathetic, adaptable, and possesses excellent judgment, with a passion for working with children. This position offers the opportunity to work autonomously, practice to your full scope, and build meaningful connections with clients, delivering holistic, person-centred care to children and youth in their homes, clinics, virtually, and through community outreach. The role requires a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle, and a willingness to travel within the London and Middlesex-Elgin areas.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
- Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities
- Client assessments to develop individual care plans
- Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
- Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds
- Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
- IV therapy and CVAD management
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Dialysis Management
- Rehabilitative programs
- Palliative and End of Life Care
- Medication management
- Other critical nursing skills
