Registered Nurse (RN) PACU Unit Supervisor
About The Position
Inova Mount Vernon is looking for a full-time PACU Nurse Supervisor. This role also oversees perianesthesia care for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and gastroenterology procedure patients. The schedule involves weekdays with four 10-hour shifts to cover unit hours from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with minimal on-call responsibilities. The OR functions 24/7 with call team support on off-shifts and holidays. It is a fast-paced environment that focuses on strong teamwork and patient safety. Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is a 237-bed hospital offering convenience and state-of-the-art care in a community environment, situated on 26 acres of landscaped open space with specially designed gardens. The hospital is home to nationally recognized Inova Joint Replacement Center and Inova Rehabilitation Center, both ranked among the top orthopedic and rehabilitation programs, and the Inova Wound Healing Center, the region's largest and most experienced.
Requirements
- One year of nursing experience is required.
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN, or ADN within one year of BSN completion.
- RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required from AHA.
- Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- RN with at least 2 years of PACU-to include PreOp, phase 1 and 2 recovery.
- Prior leadership experience to include charge, supervisory or management.
