About The Position

Join an innovative surgical team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse, providing safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients undergoing operative and invasive procedures. The RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other team members to support positive patient outcomes. Full training is provided for circulating and scrubbing across a wide variety of surgical cases, including exposure to cardiac, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures. The role offers hands-on robotics experience and cross-training in scrubbing and circulating.

This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, with 8- or 10-hour day shifts. Departmental call may be required as needed. The nurse may also float to other units or adjust shifts to support patient care.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing or graduation from an RN program.
• Current RN licensure in Iowa or qualifying multistate licensure.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases.
• Participate in cardiac, neuro, robotic-assisted, and other specialty procedures.
• Assess patient needs before, during, and after surgery, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and support optimal patient outcomes.
• Document care and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families about procedure expectations and postoperative care.
• Support, guide, and delegate tasks to LPNs and Nursing Assistants as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education, team meetings, and quality initiatives.
• Float to other units or adjust shifts as needed to support patient care.
