Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room
About The Position
Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses. This is a full-time position with an evening shift and includes on-call duties. The work schedule involves two 8-hour shifts (3pm – 11:30pm) and two 12-hour shifts (11am – 11:30pm) per week. Inova Alexandria Hospital is a 318-bed community hospital with an OR equipped with 11 OR suites and 4 Endoscopy Suites. The hospital offers a comprehensive range of surgical specialties and is recognized for its quality and safety, including Magnet designation and a Grade A from Leap Frog. Requirements
- Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
- BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with the following cases: Ortho, Neuro, Robotics
- Scrubbing experience
- AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR
Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
- Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
- Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
- Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
- Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
