About The Position

Community Health Network has an excellent opportunity available within our Medical Oncology nursing team located in Kokomo at the Howard Oncology Center. This role is within the Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center, a partnership that integrates Community’s cancer services with MD Anderson, a global leader in cancer care. The Medical Oncology unit offers a diverse patient population, caring for medical, renal, and oncology patients. The unit fosters growth and development, promoting a culture of self-care, care of each other, and care of patients and their families. The team invests in its members by encouraging those passionate about Oncology to pursue paid, hands-on training to become a chemo-certified Oncology nurse. The oncology nurse collaborates closely with outpatient cancer centers, providers, and a dedicated Oncology pharmacist.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN, CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA) OR three years of related professional nursing experience.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).

Nice To Haves

• Recent Oncology experience is strongly preferred.
• Two years of inpatient RN experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for medical, renal, and oncology patients.
• Collaborate with outpatient cancer centers, providers, and Oncology pharmacist.
• Participate in a culture of self-care, care of each other, and care of patients and their families.
• Undergo paid hands-on training to become a chemo-certified Oncology nurse.
