About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY. This role involves providing direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, operating medical equipment, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning. The position also includes educating patients and families and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility procedures.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Active New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification.
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in large acute care hospitals or post-acute care facilities.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients.
Administer and document prescribed medications and treatments.
Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertions, and IV starts.
Monitor patient vital signs and identify/report adverse reactions promptly.
Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as required.
Interpret and record patient assessments and clinical measurements.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning.
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, and post-surgical care.
Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and EMR documentation.
Follow infection control policies, nursing standards, and patient safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility procedures.
