About The Position

This is a part-time Registered Nurse position on the 2 North Medical Surgical Telemetry Observation and Horizons Detox unit at Atrium Health Mercy. The unit has 16 beds and primarily treats patients with diagnoses such as new diagnosis DM, chest pain, R/O stroke, abdominal pain, GI bleed, detox, suicide ideation, and altered mental status. Atrium Health Mercy is a Magnet designated facility known for patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • At least 6 months required experience to come in outside of the New Grad residency program.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
  • Time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of inpatient nursing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.

  • Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and practice ethical decision-making.
  • Delegate appropriately to other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
  • May be required to float to other units, departments, or facilities.
  • Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the life span.
