About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) Manager leads the daily operations of an inpatient unit, overseeing high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders. The role drives implementation and continuous evaluation of nursing practices across hospital units, supports exceptional patient outcomes, and fosters a collaborative team environment. The position is at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center, a 100-bed acute care inpatient behavioral health facility serving adults with diverse and complex mental health needs. Programs include specialized care for older adults, people living with chronic mental illness, and individuals needing substance abuse treatment and medical detoxification. The center uses evidence-based practices and compassionate, patient-centered care to support stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness.
Requirements
- Current license to practice nursing in Virginia, or eligibility to receive or renew one.
- Three years of supervisory experience; inpatient setting preferred.
- Three years of experience in mental health.
- Current CPI certification.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Valid driver's license.
