About The Position

Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care in its adult inpatient behavioral health facility. The center is a 100-bed acute-care facility serving adults with diverse and complex mental health needs, including older adults, people living with chronic mental illness, and people receiving substance abuse treatment or medical detoxification. Care combines evidence-based practices with compassionate, patient-centered support for stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness. The full-time role offers a 36-hour workweek and a day-shift schedule. Overtime and opportunities to pick up shifts across different schedules are available. New graduates are welcome, with a supportive environment to help them begin their nursing careers. Requirements

Current license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or eligibility to receive or renew one.
Current CPR or BLS certification.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent care, comfort, and security to patients and their families.
Support adult patients with mental health needs, including chronic mental illness, substance abuse, and medical detoxification needs.
Contribute to patient stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness through evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care.
