The IV Therapy RN provides skilled nursing care to patients receiving intravenous infusions in the IV therapy clinic, including vascular access, infusion administration, patient monitoring, and education, under established clinical protocols and provider-directed plans of care. The RN works closely with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, effective infusion therapy. A national IV therapy/vascular access certification (e.g., CRNI, VA-BC) is not required but is ideal. RNs without certification who have a strong desire to specialize in IV therapy are encouraged to apply; the organization offers precepted clinical hours to help build IV therapy competency toward certification.
