About The Position

Virtua Health is hiring a full-time, on-site Registered Nurse for the ICU in Voorhees, New Jersey. The role is a 12-hour night shift, with 36 total weekly hours, and requires previous critical care experience. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the nurse coordinates care and collaborates with team members, patients, and their families or significant others while maintaining high standards of professional ethics.

Requirements

Previous critical care experience.
Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Valid New Jersey RN license, maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey Licensing Board requirements.
Ongoing education and effort to stay current with nursing practice.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimens.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other nursing department and healthcare team members.
Apply standard precautions and patient safety principles.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
Coordinate patient care and communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families or significant others.
