About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool – PRN, Days Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. This is a PRN position for the Day Shift with rotating weekends, requiring 1-2 shifts per week. The Float Pool RN will work in the Central Staffing department for a 222-bed facility that is a MAGNET facility, Level III Trauma Center, and Primary Stroke center. Enjoy self-scheduling to help with work/life balance. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of units (PCU, Med Surg and ED Holds) and provides excellent opportunities for educational and career growth including advancement opportunities in leadership.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
ACLS – within 90 days of hire required.
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire.
NIHSS - required for ICU/PCU Neighborhood.
6 Months Req.
1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of intervention.
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
