About The Position

The WI Float Pool is a multi‑site resource team supporting Women’s Health (WH) care across the Wisconsin division. Float RNs provide adaptable, high‑quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need. Teammates must be flexible, skilled, and ready to deliver exceptional care in a wide variety of settings. This role offers travel-nursing-style variety without the travel, working across multiple Aurora Health facilities through day‑to‑day floating or 6‑week site rotations. It provides a fresh, dynamic work environment with exposure to various departments and patient populations, helping prevent routine fatigue and keeping work exciting. It also offers career-building experience by demonstrating adaptability, competence, and the ability to manage diverse clinical situations. The position is part of a team that supports multiple Aurora Health acute‑care facilities within the Wisconsin division, with specific assignments based on site needs.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
  • Must be able to support 2 of 3 specialties: Post Partum, Labor & Delivery, NICU
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Additional Certification needed: LDRP RN (ACLS, NRP, EFM, POC Glucose; NICU RN (PALS, NRP, POC Glucose)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of WH RN experience required in specialty
  • 1 Weekend Shift per 2 schedule period
  • 1 Holiday per year
  • A minimum of 12 hours per scheduled period is required and may be met through a combination of 4-, 8-, or 12-hour shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly Prefer 2 years Women’s Health RN Experience: Post Partum, NICU, Labor & Delivery (must support 2 service lines)

Responsibilities

  • Providing safe, therapeutic, evidence‑based nursing care in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrating adaptability by floating to multiple care environments within a designated Zone, integrating quickly into new departments, and collaborating with diverse teams
  • Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience
  • Coordinating care for diverse patient populations within various acute‑care, hospital outpatient departments and clinic settings
  • Maintaining the competency required to practice in all acute‑care facilities within the designated zone
