Plans and delivers professional nursing care to patients. This role involves providing care to patients under the direction of a physician, mentoring and training new staff and students, and performing acts within the scope of practice defined by the applicable licensing board. The position requires demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care according to unit/department competencies, policies, and procedures. Key responsibilities include accurately evaluating patient needs, maintaining comprehensive care plans, promoting patient independence by setting care goals and involving patients/families in discussions, administering and evaluating medications, educating patients/families on various aspects of care and disease processes, completing timely and accurate documentation, observing patients' conditions and reporting changes, acting in accordance with the organization's mission, vision, and values, and abiding by HIPAA regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI). Effective communication and professional working relationships with all stakeholders are essential.
