About The Position

Armor Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting at Riverside Regional Jail in North Prince George, Virginia. This is a full-time day-shift position with rotating weekends. The role includes assessing patients, planning and implementing care, administering medications, and assisting with medical procedures. Armor describes its work as partnering with correctional organizations to improve health care outcomes and support the holistic wellness of patients.

Requirements

Hold a current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Hold a current CPR certificate.
Be proficient with electronic medical records.
Pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide holistic registered nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions; obtain health histories and prepare written assessments upon admission.
Document and communicate triage decisions to the appropriate health care provider during custody and upon discharge.
Develop individual nursing care plans using nursing assessment protocols in consultation with health care providers.
Implement medical care plans, including diagnostic tests and EKGs, according to physician orders.
Administer medications using proper techniques, procedures, and approved routes of administration, and follow nutrition and therapeutic diet plans.
Assist physicians with medical or minor surgical procedures as necessary.
