About The Position

Venture Forthe is seeking an RN Trainer to instruct Personal Care Aide (PCA) Training classes in Binghamton, with travel to the Syracuse Region. This role supports the PCA Training Program, enabling more individuals to receive care in their homes and communities. The primary responsibility is teaching and training PCAs. When classes are not in session, the trainer will support the Venture Forthe Field Nursing Team. Travel and on-call hours are required. Requirements

• Licensed and registered professional nurse (RN) in New York State
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (diploma, bachelor’s, or master’s degree)
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
• At least one (1) year of home healthcare experience (Department of Health Requirement)
• Strong understanding of the scope of practice for both professional and paraprofessional healthcare providers
• Valid Driver's License and access to private reliable transportation
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to teach, coach, and engage learners of varying experience levels
• Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of education or instructional experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach the NYS PCA certification classes in Binghamton and Syracuse.
• Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining training material and curriculum for PCAs.
• Assist in the agency’s continuing education/in-service program and field competency testing of all clinical staff.
• Conduct field competency testing for clinical staff in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations.
• Potentially oversee, coordinate, and directly supervise paraprofessional staff and private duty/shift nursing services.
• Provide individualized remediation and tutoring support to trainees who require additional assistance.
• Conduct ongoing progress checks throughout training to identify learning gaps early.
• Support the Venture Forthe Field Nursing Team when there are no classes.
