About The Position

This is a 100% FTE position, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, located at 7974 UW Health Ct. in Middleton, WI. The RN Risk Manager will facilitate clinical risk management activities, including identification, investigation, analysis, and mitigation of patient safety events and organizational risk exposures. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, committees, and leadership groups to manage adverse events, support regulatory compliance, and implement sustainable solutions that improve patient safety and quality outcomes. The position also requires analyzing event reporting trends, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating response plans to reduce liability and enhance risk prevention strategies. Additionally, the RN Risk Manager will provide education, guidance, and consultation on clinical risk practices, policies, and regulatory requirements, while actively participating in organizational committees, councils, and workgroups to promote a culture of safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing
  • 3 years of experience in clinical risk management or as a clinician working in a healthcare delivery system
  • Broad clinical background in multiple patient care settings.
  • Experience with professional liability insurance/claims management.
  • Experience with process improvement workflows and evaluation of safety events.
  • Experience presenting educational material to diverse audiences
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact or current RN licensure to practice in the State of Illinois and required certification for respective nursing departments
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) within 2 Yrs
  • CPR/Basic Life Support
