Registered Nurse - Primary Care Triage
About The Position
Spectrum Healthcare Resources is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse - Primary Care Triage at the Fairfax Ambulatory Care Clinic in Fairfax, Virginia. This role is in an outpatient healthcare setting and serves the military community. The schedule is 39 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 0630 to 2000. There are no on-call, weekend, or holiday requirements, and the position includes 11 paid federal holidays off. The nurse conducts patient assessments, evaluates symptoms and medical histories, monitors and documents vital signs, performs triage, initiates emergency interventions when necessary, communicates patient status to the healthcare team, educates patients and families, and facilitates safe transfers to appropriate treatment areas.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Minimum of two years of RN experience, preferably within the last five years.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments through physical examinations and evaluate presenting concerns.
- Review medical histories and assess symptoms to determine the nature and severity of medical conditions.
- Monitor and document vital signs.
- Initiate appropriate emergency interventions when necessary.
- Perform triage assessments to prioritize patients based on the urgency and severity of their medical needs.
- Communicate patient conditions, assessment findings, and changes in status to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Facilitate the safe and timely transfer of patients to appropriate treatment areas.
