Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia
About The Position
The Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) role requires a minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience. The PACU operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and holiday coverage is provided through on-call scheduling. Candidates must be available to work 2 of the following 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day, and 1 minor holiday: Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve. Experience with higher-acuity post-anesthesia patients is preferred. Cases may include Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery. The unit is supported by a Charge Nurse and Supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience required.
- AHA ACLS certification required.
- AHA BLS certification required.
- NIHSS certification required.
- Cerner experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with higher-acuity post-anesthesia patients preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Administer care for patients recovering from various surgical procedures including Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.
- Provide holiday coverage through on-call scheduling.
- Be available to work 2 of the following 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day.
- Be available to work 1 minor holiday: Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve.
