About The Position

This position requires a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the Post Anesthesia specialty. The unit operates 24/7 and handles a variety of cases including Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery. Higher-acuity cases are performed on this unit, which is overseen by a Charge Nurse and Supervisor. There is a requirement for call on holidays. Local candidates within 50 miles are not being considered.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the Post Anesthesia specialty.
• AHA ACLS required.
• AHA BLS required.
• NIHSS Certification required.
• Cerner experience required.
• Must work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve).
• No local candidates within 50 miles.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 24/7 Post Anesthesia unit.
• Manage patients undergoing Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery procedures.
• Handle higher-acuity cases.
• Participate in holiday call as required.
• Work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve).
