Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing/Patient Care
  • 1 year Nursing/Patient Care in acute care or ambulatory settings
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) certification required - American Heart Association
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license - State Licensing Board

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized telephone triage for electrophysiology patients, assessing arrhythmia-related symptoms, cardiac device concerns (pacemakers/ICDs), and post-procedure recovery needs to ensure timely and appropriate care
  • Coordinate electrophysiology patient care by reviewing diagnostic results, addressing medication and treatment questions, and collaborating closely with providers to optimize outcomes for patients with heart rhythm disorders
  • Respond to patient calls and electronic messages, prioritize concerns based on clinical urgency, provide education within scope of practice, and ensure timely resolution of patient needs
  • Facilitate care coordination by scheduling appropriate appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, processing prescription refills, and supporting continuity of care across the patient journey
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient communications, clinical assessments, and care interventions in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards
