The Perioperative 101 Nursing Program is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for a nursing career in the operating room. This program provides high-quality didactic and clinical experiences to help you become a well-rounded, fully competent circulating perioperative registered nurse with foundational scrub skills. The Perioperative RN coordinates the surgical team in all aspects of OR activities, provides optimum perioperative nursing care, and functions as the patient's advocate. Upon acceptance into the program, candidates will be paid an RN OR hourly rate and are benefit-eligible from day 1. Graduates will be awarded contact hours from AORN and be eligible to take the Perioperative Certification exam after two years of experience. The RN in the Operating Room circulates, scrubs, and coordinates the surgical team in all aspects of OR activities, providing optimum perioperative nursing care to patients. Our state-of-the-art hospital in Jacksonville includes 34 operating rooms with advanced technologies.
