This role is responsible for the coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other interventions. It requires excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize/triage the needs of patients and the practice. The nurse will occasionally work in emergent patient care situations requiring critical thinking and prompt assessment skills. The role involves performing age-related patient assessment and intervention, as well as scheduling tests and interventions per provider order. The Registered Nurse utilizes the professional nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients across the age continuum in an ambulatory setting, caring for patients in all phases of specific states including assessment, disease maintenance, treatment, and follow-up. A working knowledge of electronic medical records is required. The role may involve working with or participating with providers in the hospital and on hospital patients, and taking call with the provider, as needed. The nurse must abide by respective healthcare agency's policies and provide a quality of service that customers describe as excellent. Must be skilled in assessment and triage of patients with various conditions and devices both in person and via electronic communication. Collaborates with providers and delivers appropriate assistance during surgical and non-surgical procedures.
