This is a Registered Nurse position in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The role requires a minimum of 1 year of experience, and first-time applicants are accepted. The patient population includes adolescents to geriatrics. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. Unit systems used are Epic and Pyxis, and SBAR is utilized for communication. Scrub color is provided by the facility. The required time off (RTO) is a maximum of 7 days. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified. Floating within the facility and scope of practice is required as needed. Call requirements include being on call/backup for weekdays and a weekend rotation within a 6-week schedule, with requirements split among all staff. Holiday work is expected based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Years Eve/New Years Day. Full compliance is required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedules. Candidates will undergo a clinical screen to determine fit, and if they pass and are within Piedmont guidelines, they will be sent to the manager for a final decision. Clinical screens are sent on a case-by-case basis. Locals are accepted at the same rate. The number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours is determined by the contract length.
