About The Position

As a PACU Registered Nurse with OrthoArizona, you will get to monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia, measure and record patients' vital signs, and closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication. You will treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia, update charts, patient files, and medical records, and collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitating timely specialized interventions. Additionally, you will provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members, educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions. You will also attend required meetings, maintain strictest confidentiality, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. You are expected to be punctual for all shifts and obtain authorization for overtime or schedule changes from your Supervisor. You will observe policies regarding breaks, meals, time off, and calling in sick, prioritize work activities based on clinical demands, and demonstrate behavior that protects the safety of self/others and of the facility and equipment. You will keep your work area clean and unobstructed, provide monitoring of patient progress between Physician or PA visits, and participate in Professional Development activities and maintain professional affiliations/certifications.

Requirements

  • Graduation from accredited school of nursing
  • Valid Arizona State License
  • Maintain CPR certification
  • Working knowledge of computer programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of orthopedic examination, diagnostic, and medical procedures
  • Knowledge of medication
  • Complete and maintain HCP training
  • Understand/Perform training on practice management software
  • Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
  • RN License

  • Minimum 3-year experience in a healthcare setting
