About The Position

This is a 13-week assignment for a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN). The role requires the nurse to have or be able to obtain an Alaska RN license. Variable shifts are available, typically 3x12 hours. The position is at a Magnet facility, Level II Trauma, and a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska. The hospital has 407 total staffed beds and uses Epic for charting. Parking is free.

Requirements

Active AK RN license (must be in hand for Auto Offer).
Ability to complete AK RN license application within 48 hours of signing (including submitting FPs, app fee, license application submittal).
BLS certification.
ACLS certification.
PALS certification.
Per UD skills.
1 year of experience.
Must be able to respond to on-call within 30 minutes.
Must have license in hand for Auto Offer.

First Timers Accepted: Yes
Nurses may choose only one Sunday 0630–1900 call shift and only one Sunday 1000–1900 call shift due to high demand for day shifts.
Call sleep rooms are available.
Locals Accepted: No - Candidates perm address must be at least 50 miles from facility
Pending License Accepted: Yes, but must have license in hand for Auto Offer
Time off approved on an individual basis upon offer. All RTO must be included in submittal

Responsibilities

Provide care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
Be available for on-call duties, including 6 calls per 8-week period, with a 30-minute response time to the hospital.
Provide weekend coverage for on-call shifts.
Float to like units within skillset to meet facility needs.
Provide care during variable shifts (0700-1900, 0800-2000, 0900-2100, 1000-2200, 1100-2300).
Manage patient care during recovery from anesthesia.
