Registered Nurse - PACU - Weekend Schedule

About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) works collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care through evidence-based medicine and individualized care. The RN facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience and provides care to surgical patients before and after anesthesia.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school and program.
- Associate degree in nursing required.
- Licensed in the State of Michigan.
- RN experience required.
- Recent PACU experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. In Grand Rapids, nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing must enroll in a BSN program within six months of hire and complete it within four years of hire.
- Experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Specialty credentialing preferred according to clinical nursing practice specialty.
Responsibilities
- Optimize patients for surgery through questionnaires, lab work, and history.
- Communicate effectively with family members before and during surgery.
- Assist in obtaining surgical consents.
- Provide care to surgical patients post-anesthesia.
