About The Position

This is a Full Time Registered Nurse position in the Overflow Unit (4 South) with flexible hours. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The Registered Nurse utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to create a care plan for each patient, considering their physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. The position also includes supervising and delegating tasks to non-professional personnel to ensure optimal patient care. The nurse must demonstrate competence in managing age-related needs of diverse patient populations and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive clinical care in accordance with Riverside Health System's standards and goals.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state Upon Hire
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire

Associate Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement, Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma) (Required)

2 years of experience (for $7,000 bonus eligibility)

Demonstrates nursing unit specific competencies and equipment training.
Partners with patients and their family to develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
Incorporates evidence based standards of practice and collaborates with interdisciplinary team in care coordination.
Facilitates safe patient transition to next level of care as part of plan of care.
Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to ensure patient receives consistent, competent and ethical care.
