About The Position

This is a Full Time Nights position for a Registered Nurse in the Overflow Unit (4 South). The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director, responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of total nursing care for assigned patients. The role involves utilizing communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to create patient care plans that consider physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. The RN is also responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to non-professional personnel to ensure optimal patient care and must demonstrate competence in managing the age-related needs of specific patient populations. The position operates under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive clinical care in accordance with Riverside Health System's standards and goals.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state Upon Hire
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire
  • Weekend Shifts
  • Irregular Shifts
  • High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if Nursing Diploma Graduate
  • 2 years of experience (for bonus eligibility)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population.
  • Demonstrates nursing unit specific competencies and equipment training.
  • Partners with patients and their family to develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
  • Incorporates evidence based standards of practice and collaborates with interdisciplinary team in care coordination.
  • Facilitates safe patient transition to next level of care as part of plan of care.
  • Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to ensure patient receives consistent, competent and ethical care.
  • Focuses on quality outcomes of patient when addressing service needs to ensure evidence based quality care of patient.
  • Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations.
  • Modifies education method to ensure patient/family understanding.
  • Assumes responsibility to coordinate and deliver individualized patient education and discharge specific education to family/caregivers.
  • Evaluates for comprehension and documents.
  • Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence to meet the patient's care needs.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.
  • Evaluates resources and support needed and uses systems to ensure needs are met.

Benefits

  • Full Time Nights Available 7pm-7am
  • $7,000 bonus for Full Time RNs with 2 years of experience
  • $6,000 bonus for Full Time NEW GRAD RNs
