The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care for outpatient patients of all ages. This role involves performing dressing changes, assisting with ambulation, and supporting activities of daily living. The nurse will administer prescribed medications and vaccines, perform respiratory treatments, and provide oxygen therapy. Additionally, the Registered Nurse will fit assistive devices such as splints or durable medical equipment, perform urinary catheter placements, collect tissue and biological samples, and conduct venipuncture for blood samples. They will also assist in setting up minor procedures using aseptic techniques, initiate treatments, administer medications, and perform emergency and resuscitative measures. The Registered Nurse consults with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients.
