About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, is hiring a Registered Nurse or LPN for its Acute Rehab Unit at its new rehabilitation hospital in Northwest Reno. The role provides safe, compassionate nursing care in an acute rehabilitation environment, with Patient Centered Care serving as the foundation for nursing care. The nurse is expected to demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times. The hospital provides acute rehabilitation services, including occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or other disabling conditions. Services address conditions such as stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas, and spinal cord and back injuries. Patients have private rooms, access to a therapy gym, and personalized care from qualified staff.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program, or graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program.
Current Nevada nursing license.
Current BLS certificate.

Nice To Haves

One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Involve patients and families in care assessment, addressing psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs.
Construct and implement plans of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient-care activities related to diagnoses and comorbidities.
Coordinate implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients.
Develop goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient and family needs.
Provide safe and compassionate care and demonstrate Service Excellence standards.
