Registered Nurse - Acute Rehab Unit - Nights
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work in the Acute Rehab Unit at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This part-time role is scheduled for 24 hours per week, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., including every other weekend. No travel is required. The nurse assesses patients and collects health data in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare providers; coordinates safe, timely, and appropriate plans of care; communicates effectively with customers; and provides individualized patient and family education. The role also participates in quality improvement initiatives and maintains knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an associate degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and collect health data involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Coordinate patient plans of care to ensure interventions are consistent, safe, timely, and appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all customers in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on an assessment of their learning needs.
- Participate in evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations.
