About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) for a 13-week travel contract opportunity in Watertown, New York. The OR RN will provide perioperative nursing care while maintaining a safe and aseptic surgical environment and supporting patients throughout their operative experience. Candidates should possess strong assessment, prioritization, communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills and be comfortable participating in weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage.

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required.
• Current BLS Certification Required.
• Operating Room Nursing Experience Required.
• Prior Travel Nursing Experience Required.
• Must Reside More Than 100 Miles From the Work Location and Be Able to Meet the Required 30-Minute On-Call Response Time.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess surgical patients and provide safe, individualized perioperative nursing care based on clinical and procedural needs.
• Maintain sterile and aseptic technique while safely using clinical equipment and instrumentation in the Operating Room environment.
• Monitor patient condition, recognize safety concerns and dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions when necessary.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe and efficient surgical care.
• Prioritize and delegate nursing activities appropriately and participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage with a 30-minute response requirement.
