About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) for a 13-week travel contract opportunity in Watertown, New York. The OR RN will provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care while maintaining aseptic technique and supporting efficient surgical operations. Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical assessment, prioritization, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. This position requires night shifts along with weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage.

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required.
• Current BLS Certification Required.
• Operating Room Nursing Experience Required.
• Prior Travel Nursing Experience Required.
• Must Reside More Than 100 Miles From the Work Location and Be Able to Meet the Required 30-Minute On-Call Response Time.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess surgical patients and provide individualized perioperative nursing care based on clinical and procedural needs.
• Maintain sterile and aseptic technique while safely operating and managing clinical equipment used in the Operating Room environment.
• Monitor patient condition, identify safety concerns and potentially lethal dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe and efficient surgical care.
• Prioritize and delegate nursing activities appropriately and participate in required weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time.
