About The Position

The Registered Nurse Operating Room Traveler works in surgical services at St. John Medical Center or Jane Phillips Medical Center in Tulsa or Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The role performs both scrub and circulating functions, supports the operating physician during procedures, and prepares operating rooms, instruments, and equipment. Multiple shifts are available, with a schedule of 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse credential required before the hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support certification required within six months (180 days) of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider certification required within one month (30 days) of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions, including selecting and handling instruments and supplies used during procedures.
• Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communicating the patient’s condition and managing nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
• Directly assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and equipment for use.
