About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room (OR) in Kealakekua, Hawaii. The role involves providing direct perioperative nursing care during surgical procedures, assisting surgeons, monitoring patients, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The position is in a hospital operating room setting and requires flexibility with on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

Active registered nurse license in Hawaii (or eligible per state requirements).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Operating Room nursing experience in a hospital setting.
Ability to work 4x10-hour evenings with on-call responsibilities.
Ability to work in Kealakekua, Hawaii and comply with standard OR protocols and safety practices.
Reference checks will be conducted via email (no phone calls).

Responsibilities

Provide direct perioperative nursing care during surgical procedures in the OR, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Assist surgeons as a circulator or scrub nurse, maintaining sterile technique and managing instruments and supplies.
Monitor patient status intraoperatively, document events, and participate in safety checks such as timeouts and counts.
Prepare and position patients, manage specimens and labeling, and assist with equipment setup and turnover between cases.
Coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams, respond to intraoperative changes, and uphold infection control and quality standards.
Support post-anesthesia care processes as applicable, ensuring safe handoffs and proper documentation.
