Registered Nurse -OB Maternal Infant Health – Ambulatory
About The Position
Indiana University Health's Community Benefit team in Bloomington is seeking an RN to support the GROW Initiative. This role provides comprehensive maternal and infant health services through assessment, education, care coordination, outreach, and referral management for pregnant and postpartum individuals, infants, and women of childbearing age. The RN will work in both clinical and community settings, meeting clients where they are to improve engagement and reduce transportation barriers. Services will be delivered in healthcare facilities, community locations, homes, and other approved settings throughout Brown and Lawrence Counties. This is a supplemental position with shifts primarily occurring Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evenings or weekends for outreach, community events, and supporting parent/community education.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of RN OBGYN experience
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel throughout the service area
- Strong communication skills
- Strong assessment skills
- Strong care coordination skills
- Strong patient education skills
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN)
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
Nice To Haves
- Experience in OB, maternal-child health, labor and delivery, postpartum, women's health, pediatrics, community health, community outreach, care coordination, patient navigation, and working with vulnerable or underserved populations
- Knowledge of maternal health resources, community programs, and social service systems
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
