Registered Nurse - NICU
About The Position
This is a 3-month contract travel nursing assignment at an acute care hospital in Apple Valley, California. The Registered Nurse will provide care in a Level III NICU serving approximately 190 births per month. The onsite schedule is nights, three 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. First-time travelers are accepted. The nurse may float to the Mother-Baby unit for babies as needed; nurses with couplet care experience may be eligible to float fully. Weekend work is required every other week and may be more frequent to meet unit needs. The facility may call off one shift every two weeks, and block scheduling is not available. On-call is not required. All requests for time off must be submitted with the application and are subject to facility approval; scheduling requests based on outside employment will not be considered. The hospital has 212 staffed beds. Epic is used for charting. RN scrub color is navy blue, and parking is free. All orientation hours are billable. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship or transfer is unavailable.
Requirements
- Current RN license.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in the NICU specialty.
- Proficiency with the Epic charting system.
- Ability to float to the Mother-Baby unit.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship or transfer is not available.

- Couplet care experience, which may qualify the nurse to float fully to the Mother-Baby unit.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
Responsibilities
