About The Position

This Critical Care New Graduate RN Residency Program – Emergency Department is designed to provide newly licensed nurses with the education, clinical experience, mentorship, and support needed to confidently transition from nursing school into professional practice. You’ll work alongside experienced Emergency Department nurses and providers while developing the skills necessary to care for patients with a wide variety of medical, surgical, and emergent conditions. The program offers comprehensive orientation, structured clinical training, and ongoing support throughout the transition to independent practice in a collaborative environment focused on learning, teamwork, and patient safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon employment/start of clinical practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Newly licensed RNs and recent nursing graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to providing safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Motivation to develop strong assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide education, clinical experience, mentorship, and support to newly licensed nurses.

  • Develop skills in rapid assessment and clinical decision-making.
  • Provide ongoing support throughout the transition to independent practice.
