About The Position
An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse on a specialized neurological unit. This unit is an excellent environment to expand knowledge on various neurological diseases while applying nursing and critical thinking skills. Join an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting, caring for patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Guillain Barre Syndrome. As a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in the region, we accommodate many acute and complex patients. Our Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit collaborates with a specialty team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures utilizing advanced continuous video EEG technology. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team that values the skills, talents, and compassion of nurses in caring for our patient population.
Requirements
- Telemetry experience required
- RN License (New York License ONLY)
- Two (2) years of nursing experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
- NIHSS certification required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Responsibilities
- Apply nursing and critical thinking skills to care for patients with neurological diseases.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures.
- Care for patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Guillain Barre Syndrome.
