About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse for an Acute Stroke Unit in a tertiary care hospital. The unit focuses on acute stroke and neurological patients along with general medical admissions using an adjustable acuity model.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN License (must be in hand)
- Minimum 1 year Med/Surg Tele experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification required
- Strong experience with cardiac monitoring and stroke care
- IV therapy and phlebotomy competency required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to work in high-acuity acute stroke environment
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg Tele / Acute Stroke Unit
- Manage patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
- Perform cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Respond to rapid response and code situations
- Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy
- Manage peripheral IV lines and vascular access care
- Provide respiratory support (oxygen therapy, nasal cannula, masks, non-invasive airway support)
- Follow strict isolation and infection control protocols
- Monitor and care for acute stroke and neuro patients
- Document all patient care in EPIC system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
